Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity is currently sending out applications for prospective homeowners and will be interviewing candidates for our 2013 build projects on 
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 3rd, 2013. 
The meeting will be held at the 
First Baptist Church of Arnold (2012 Missouri State Road, Arnold) from 9am til noon. 

There will be a short presentation about Habitat for Humanity and then personal interviews with a committee member and the prospective family to review the application's paperwork.  


Criteria...
1.  You must have lived in Jefferson County for the last year.
2. You must currently be living in substandard housing.
3. You must meet the income guidelines as set by HUD so that you are able to purchase the home with a no interest mortgage from Jefferson County, MO -Habitat for Humanity.  (An example of income is, for a family of 3, you must earn between $15,850 and $38,0400)
4. If selected, you must be willing to work 375 hours of sweat equity with Habitat for Humanity in Jefferson County.  For a single parent family, 125 hours must be earned by the future homeowner, for a dual parent family, 250 hours myst be earned.  The remainder can be earned by friends and family.  Children can earn sweat equity hours with good grades on report cards received in the months of the actual build.



The homes that we will be building with the assistance with volunteers, community business and organizations and the selected families will be started in the new year.  The families, after being reviewed by the family selection committee must be approved by the Board of Directors.  All selected families are now required to put in a minimum of 40 hours of sweat equity before a site is chosen for their home. These may be earned building on someone's Habitat home, in the ReStore in Crystal City or even in the office.  Before the final sale of the home to the family, a total of 375 hours must be accumulated.
